What about an Inland Pearl Harbor cocktail would make you happy? I loved my very first ever Pearl Harbor cocktail. It was actually an “Island” Pearl Harbor. Paige, our St. Thomas USVI resort bartender, is who introduced the delicious drink to me. I am a sucker for anything with pineapple juice! Well, add a little Midori and you have yourself a happy girl. Over the years though, I did begin to try my hand at making one. A test – adding a little of this and a little of that, which morphed it from just an island drink into an inland version of a favorite melon liqueur cocktail.

Does an Inland Pearl Harbor Cocktail Check Your Boxes?

If you don’t like pineapple juice or Midori then I’ll stop you right here. You most definitely will not like an Inland Pearl Harbor! Those two ingredients are the key flavors that you will taste. If they are a no-no, just make it for a friend or don’t even buy the ingredients. But if you love pineapple, melon and alcohol then this is definitely one cocktail worth trying.

Just What Is Midori?

Midori is a blended melon liqueur from Japan that we’ve used in the Inland Pearl Harbor. It is a rare melon given the conditions in which it is grown in. It was not brought to the US market until the 1970s. I could type out all the facts, but I think I will just give ya the Midori link and let you take a look for yourself. That is if you’re a facts kinda person. I will say that there are other melon liqueurs on the market. Some are definitely cheaper, but I have never found any other one that tastes quite like Midori. It is one of a kind in my opinion.

Does Midori Taste Good in Other Drinks?

Yes, Midori liqueur is a great liqueur to mix with lots of other alcohol, fruit juices, fresh fruit and mixes. Besides the Inland Pearl Harbor cocktail, I will be showcasing it in another one of the 12 Tipsy Day recipes, when I get it posted I will add the link right here. You will definitely want to give it a try. We have a real fan of it here in the Welch house.

A Reuben Rollup from Lyndi over at The Joy of Eating Well has an appetizer that you are not going to want to skip! These little jewels make my mouth water just thinking about them. I promise that these will be a crowd pleaser. The Inland Pearl Harbor will be the perfect drink to wash them down.

12 Tipsy Days is Closer to Completion! This is #9!

We are at #9 of our Tipsy 12 Days of cocktail recipes. This Inland Pearl Harbor cocktail was worth the wait though. It is an island treat, but if you’re trying while at home (like me in Arkansas) it’s inland. If you are on an island and you are trying this let me know just how amazing it is to drink one. Maybe you are hanging out in your hammock on the beach with the waves crashing on the beach next to you… If you are, just know this, I’m jealous and when can I come visit???
