A terrific recipe for a fruity vodka cocktail just when mom needs it the most! It’s almost time for those sweet little minions to go back to school. Then the schedules will kick in and happy hour can kick start the school year crunch, which is just a different phase of pandemonium, LOL!

Who need’s a fruity vodka cocktail?

You may ask, who needs a fruity cocktail like this one? Just about every parent or grandparent can enjoy a good refreshing cocktail at happy hour. I for one am grateful to be past the PreK – 12th grade back to school days with my children, although I still have a grand that is just now getting to the age where this will be a situation for her parents, and somedays I’m sure the grandparents. Seeing how both of her parents work and if Lil’ Miss is under the weather or has appointments, sometime we will be called upon.

What can make you want a fruity cocktail, more than just being a back to school mom?

My daughter is employed at a local school. Therefore she would probably consider a concoction such as this, as job preservation on a daily afternoon basis. That is, during the school year, and if it wouldn’t impair other areas of her life… We do not condone alcoholic behavior, nor tendencies, but we do allow a little for unwinding every now and then.Metal insulated cup with fruity cocktail with ice.

Why do I enjoy a terrific cocktail?

I have now had my YOUNG adult, college/not college at the moment, son back at home for the past 4 months. Can I say he drives me to drink? No, he doesn’t, but there are those days when he makes me still treat him like he’s 12. Those are the days, my friends that I just have to, “pour me….”(if you are reading this in the year of 2019, you’ll get that phrase if you listen to country music at all).

Was this recipe designed for you?

Yes, I made this recipe for college moms in mind, as much as, I did regular school-age moms. Cheers to all you college moms & empty nesters! I was brokenhearted when we moved him out last year… Generally speaking, no really I’m just speaking for myself, I think I may be more brokenhearted that “he’s back.” Especially since there’s no definite plan in place for anything to change anytime soon. I love him, but there was a reason for the little fruity vodka cocktail recipe to occur if you get my drift. Hey, at least I’m keeping it healthy by using healthy juices.

PSA: This is not to be just for moms, dads are welcome to share in the delicious libation also. Be mindful to never overindulge, you probably have children at home by the time happy hour rolls around. So, as all the ads say please drink responsibly and NEVER drive under the influence of alcohol.

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 8 oz cranberry juice I prefer 100% juice, no added sugar - NOT cranberry cocktail juice
  • 4 oz orange and/or pineapple juice You can use one, the other or both. If you are were you can get these fresh squeezed it takes this to a whole new level!
  • 2 oz Pinnacle Whipped Vodka Other vodka can be used, but this is the preference for this particular recipe.

Instructions

  • Mix all together. Stir. Serve over ice. If you know you will be making ahead of time it's always a great idea to freeze some of your juice in ice trays, so you won't have a watered down taste.
